Besides loving retouching and working in Photoshop  this has led to other interests that have taken me in different directions.

Specifically, while learning retouching I needed to understand what the photographer was trying to achieve. Correcting the lighting on faces was very important to me. Also, leading the eye through the photo was important. So many details to learn from the art of photography.

Is that like jumping down a rabbit hole? Maybe. It's funny how curiosity leads you down many paths and the great thing is the learning experience, the end result and the feeling of accomplishment.

Starting to learn manual photography

The journey begins.

The Super Blue Blood Moon

What an interesting and strange name.

This was taken in 2018. The Moon's orbit was closer to the Earth than most eclipses and appeared brighter than other lunar eclipses. This was also a total lunar eclipse. During this event, the Earth lines up between the Moon and the Sun, hiding the Moon from the sunlight. The only light that reaches the Moon's surface is the light from the edges of the Earth's atmosphere.

The Milky Way

_DSC5712-1.jpg

The Milky Way has always intrigued me. We can't see it with our eyes...
at least I can't. But it's always there with Sagittarius and Scorpio in it's core. So much to learn on this subject. This is my first attempt with a single shot, even though I took about 50.

The Milky Way in Maui

Still obsessed with this beautiful work of the universe. Even while on vacation I had to find it in the sky.
